Our mission is to provide an excellent "first" school experience by providing a warm, caring, and safe environment for children to explore.  We operate a full day childcare center with a built in preschool program.  It is our goal to deliver high quality and affordable childcare in a family like atmosphere.

About Us

Little Pioneers is owned and operated by Diane Connor & Kim Wied .  We are sisters who have been in the child care industry for 30+ years.  We were both directors at a local daycare before deciding to branch out on our own.  We were born and raised in NP, along with our parents, grandparents, husbands, and now our children.  As part of households with two working parents, we understand first hand the need for affordable childcare in the area.  We pride ourselves with creating an environment in which families can feel safe knowing that their children are in good hands.

Our Philosophy

We believe that our primary function is to build on the individual strengths of each child to help them develop a positive self-image.

We encourage children to understand that each person is unique and yet all people share certain feelings that need to be respected.

We treat each child with respect and dignity so that the child will feel accepted and comfortable.

We believe that children are naturally curious and eager to learn.

We provide numerous opportunities for children to explore by providing experiences in and out of the center.

We believe in helping each child to achieve his or her full potential.

PHYSICALLY through the development of large and small motor skills.

EMOTIONALLY through the expression of feelings and the understanding that it is OK to be different.

SOCIALLY through sharing and playing together.

ACADEMICALLY through group and individual experiences in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and fine art.

We believe that all children are special.

It is our goal to nurture that uniqueness and creativity while preparing them for the future.

We believe that open communication between staff and parents is essential to the children’s well-being.
